THE DAILY RAMBLE: New York Bill To Increase Coop and Condo Tax Assessments Is A DISASTER!
OVERTAXED?
If YOU ARE A CONDO or CO-OP
OWNER or RENTER
Your Real Estate Taxes Will Go up Under
State Senate Bill S1706-A
State Senate Bill Number S1706-A would change the tax status and
property tax grievance procedures for CO-OPS, CONDOS,
and APARTMENT BUILDINGS in Westchester County.
All other types of Commercial Property would also be affected.
Housing Affordability would also take a hit. Since co-ops and condos
provide both introductory and affordable housing for many families,
S1706-A will increase the real estate taxes so as to price many families out of the
Housing market. S1706-A will also increase taxes for landlords, thereby putting
tremendous pressure on apartment rents.
