THE DAILY RAMBLE II: The 11th Month, the 11th Day, the 11th Hour - The Code Talkers
I had wanted to re-post this article earlier for Veterans Day but never had the chance. Still, it is important and while off subject to this blog, I fell it is important that people read it.
Many Americans still have never head of the Navajo Code Talkers, and how incredibly important they were in winning WWII. Their work was so secret that i never learned of them until I was an adult, so I know there are many who are still in the dark. Their communications in a modified version of the Navajo language was never broken by the enemy and as a result countless lives were saved and the war shortened. After so much persecution by the white man in the US that they were still willing to get involved and play such a vital role in the war shows the depth of their character. They honor all of us for their endless travels in search of Further Light and I in my small way honor them.
