Pick Up A Letter From The Sleigh At The UPS Store In Bronxville & Give Christmas To A Child
This afternoon the agents in the Houlihan Lawrence Bronxville office received an email about Santa letters in a sleigh at the UPS Store in Bronxville Village. Children have written Santa for toys and clothes that their parents cannot provide this year due to the tough economic times.
I know how difficult it is to open your wallet when you are facing a foreclosure, an empty oil tank, or no food in the fridge. But kids always seem to be a different story. Even a $5 toy can put a smile on a child’s face, and that is priceless.
Last week when I was in Provincetown I brought a bag of clothes to the local Soup Kitchen and thrift shop. http://www.ptownsoup.org/ It was lunchtime and I was amazed how busy it was for such a small town. Despite all the money that is thrown around during the summer months, in the winter people go hungry all the time. Iwas really taken aback by what I saw.
So when I got this email today it really made me think: times are difficult this year, but not nearly as bad for me as for a child with out of work parents. How must they feel not being able to give their children a great visit from Santa?
I am paying the UPS store a visit tomorrow. Can you?
The UPS Store is located at 81 Pondfield Rd. Bronxville, across the street from Value Drugs.
