Came Across A Great New Website – Victoriansource.com A Great Resource For Images Of Victorian Era Yonkers Homes.
My Twitter account http://www.twitter.com/bronxvillecoops was “followed” this evening by Victoriansource.com When I went to their website I was blown away by what was there. It is a unique collection of images and maps of Victorian era homes in Yonkers, primarily from the Park Hill neighborhood, located on the west side of the city bordering the Hudson River. Park Hill was largely developed roughly a century ago, with many very large and fanciful homes that are treasures today. Currently there are three fanciful homes available priced from the $800′s to $1 million.
The link to the website is located to the right —>, just click “Yonkers Historic Homes.” if you like historical houses, you will love this site!

Thank you very much for the nice reference and link to my website VictorianSource.com. My goal was to showcase the Victorian Period in all of Yonkers. Yonkers is still a treasure trove of Victorian homes. When you explore the site further you will find that all areas of Yonkers are well represented. Park Hill is only one of them. There are many drop downs in the Navigation Bar that will let you look at many areas of the city from 1860 to around 1915. I’ve tried to include river views, railroads, town views, historic sites, street scenes and individual homes along with historic articles and written recollections. My collection is vast and it will take years to upload the many more thousands of photos I have archived, but if you love this period of history as I do, check back often as I continue to build it. A number of current homeowners have “discovered” what their homes actually looked like 100+ years ago…. Thanks again!
