This is a fascinating account of the events leading up to the 11th hour about-face by Councilwomen Sandi Annabi who cast the deciding vote to approve the $600 million dollar Forrest City Ratner Ridge Hill project located next to the New York State Thruway in Yonkers. Annabi was indicted on Federal Charges Wednesday for allegedly accepting $167,000 in bribes and on additional charges in connection with her vote on Ridge Hill and another project in Yonkers.
While this is a sad state of affairs for the City of Yonkers, we can thank Councilman Murtagh for his thorough discussion of what transpired prior to the vote, and his frank discussion of the vain attempts to influence him by persons involved in the development. This story is not over.
